First Look: Dakura Maladorr

Hi everyone! It’s been a long time since the last update. We’ve been working almost constantly on Vacant Sky Awakening and the gameplay is finally almost in a show-ready state. Kickstarter backers got an early look at how it’s shaping up a few days ago, but there are a few more rough edges we have to fix up before the general public can see.

In the meantime, here’s a first look at Dakura’s character model! His (hopefully) final mesh was modeled, textured, and rigged by Julia Stein.

In battle, Dakura plays two main roles: he has the longest range of the melee party members and is capable of dealing enormous spike damage when his TP meter is charged. Secondly, he can equip threat-management abilities to draw enemy fire away from allies.

Dakura is unique in being the only party member who has no direct support abilities. As is fitting for his role in the story, he is primarily concerned with direct attacks and manipulating the enemy’s behavior.

He plays most similarly to Rayonne from Contention, although he is thankfully free from his predecessor’s curse of terrible accuracy.
