The Vestibule Now Available on Android!

“There’s still a long way to go until we’re reunited.”

Made in 72 hours for Ludum Dare Jam 22, The Vestibule is a visual novel adventure/mystery game about the chance encounters made by the main character, Gale, on a voyage by train for the holidays. By interacting with the other passengers on the train, you can help them or hinder them from making realizations about themselves. And maybe, in the process, you can learn something about yourself, too.

Features art by Kate Holden and story/programming by Bishop Myers. Made with the Ren’py engine.

Going to try this game(?) now, but I was really going to comment to ask how that complete edition or whatever it’s called, of Vacant Sky was coming along. I’m not sure where I can ask other than the comments and I’m a bit afraid the others are outdated or you won’t see it. Anyway, yeah. I tried playing the version of the game on the site, but I don’t know, I couldn’t finish episode 1 and I think I read you were going to make all the episodes into 1 big game or something? I really wanted to play those games, but I can’t finish episode 1 and I really don’t want to skip it.. So anyway, are you still going to make another version of Vacant Sky? So sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. :(
Hope no one will get mad if this is wrong of me to do.

It’s coming along. The Complete Edition will indeed contain all three episodes, remastered. Sorry for the lack of updates, but I hope to have something neat to show soon!

I couldn’t seem to find any forum or anything to ask on, but glad to hear it’s still being worked on. =)
Not to nag or anything, but do you think you’ll be able to least get it released sometime in 2012? I’ve got to admit, I’m really looking forward to playing it. =D

I certainly intend to, but I won’t make any promises until I know I can keep them. There’s not really an official Project BC forum, so feel free to ask questions here or on Twitter. :)

I don’t use twitter, so I’ll just make some comments here. Roughly, how far would you say it is in terms of completion? Is there still a lot to do or are you just making sure the game won’t have big bugs that cause it to be unplayable? 50% complete? 20%, 80?

Act I and Act II are pretty much done. I’m still in the process of converting over the battle system for Act III and adding in some new scenes.

So 2/3 done with the whole thing then? =)
Is it a lot of work? I’ve never tried making a game, I just play an appreciate the hard work that goes into them. =(

It’s a lot more than 2/3 done; the hardest part is the first act, since it involves creating all the new systems that the others reuse. It is quite a lot of work, but it’s rewarding, especially when people enjoy it. :)

But with the new story branching in VC: Complete Edition doesn’t it takes lot of time to write the dialogs?
Also, how long do you plan to make Ars Harmonia?

You bet it does! That’s where most of the remaining work is, aside from bugtesting.
As for Ars Harmonia, there will be at least three more movements. Two are necessary for plot reasons and a third isn’t strictly necessary, but I think will help transition between plot arcs.

Since you said Act 1 and 2 were pretty much done, any chance I could try those? >.>
Or do I have to wait for Act 3 to be finished. Are you releasing the complete edition as one big game or still as Act 1, 2 and 3 by themselves? I mean, as separate downloads, instead of just one big download with all 3 acts put together?

I’m hoping for another Finding Eden. Will play and provide feedback on quality.

Too small and the drama could have been a tad more intense. A good effort though.
